According to reliable sources from leakers Digital Chat Station and Smart Pikachu, Xiaomi is testing a new flagship Pro model with a next-generation 2K display and integrated privacy protection technology. This solution combines hardware and software to restrict viewing angles, making it difficult for those around to see the content displayed on the screen. Although the device name has not been announced, experts believe it is the Xiaomi 18 Pro.
This information comes as Samsung is also researching similar security display solutions for future high-end Galaxy devices, suggesting that security-focused displays could become a new trend in the premium smartphone segment.
Additionally, Smart Pikachu also indicated that the Xiaomi 18 series may be introduced in September. This series is expected to maintain the rear secondary display design while upgrading photography capabilities with a custom 200MP LOFIC main sensor. The device's screen is also rumored to have a larger rounded corner radius, effective 2K resolution, and higher maximum brightness compared to the previous generation.
In terms of software, the Xiaomi 18 series is expected to run on the HyperOS 4 user interface, featuring a new visual style inspired by light and deeper integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into applications. Notably, this product will have a dedicated AI button.
