According to Bloomberg analyst Mark Gurman, Apple is planning a third generation of foldable iPhones, with a projected launch date as early as 2028.

Gurman stated that the first foldable iPhone model will feature a "truly revolutionary design change" this year, and that Apple has a development roadmap extending to two more generations after that. Gurman revealed that the iPhone Ultra 2 is expected to launch in 2027, followed by a third version as early as 2028.
The third-generation foldable iPhone – the iPhone Ultra 3 – will feature slightly larger screens on both the inside and outside compared to its predecessors. The first foldable iPhone is expected to launch with a 7.8-inch internal screen and a 5.5-inch external screen.
