Lockton Unveils Plans for Future Global Headquarters in Leawood, Kansas

Lockton revealed new details this week of its future global headquarters located in Leawood, Kansas.

The insurance brokerage will be based in a twelve-story building that will serve as the centerpiece of a 34-acre project. Lockton first announced the headquarters project in December 2025. The project is scheduled to break ground this summer, and Lockton is expected to relocate in early 2030.

“This headquarters is more than a new address. It’s a future-focused destination designed to elevate how we serve clients and how we support our people,” said Ron Lockton, Chairman and CEO of Lockton. “The design supports our growth, strengthens our culture, and gives us the environment to innovate and attract top talent for years to come.”

Lockton’s headquarters will be part of a mixed-use development that includes restaurants, a luxury hotel, retail space, childcare facilities, outdoor amenities, multifamily housing, and additional office accommodations.

The Lockton building will feature limestone terraces to reflect the company’s Midwest heritage.

Lockton is celebrating its 60-year anniversary in the Kansas City region.

PacifiCorp has denied claims by Oregon residents and business owners who accused it of negligently failing to shut off power lines during a Labor Day weekend windstorm, causing four wildfires – Santiam Canyon, Echo Mountain Complex, South Obenchain and 242 – that damaged more than 2,000 properties.

The Portland-based utility said the trial judge overseeing the so-called James litigation erred in allowing a class action as a group over fires that were each more than 100 miles (161 km) from each other, and a fifth fire that PacifiCorp blamed on lightning.

A three-judge appeals court panel said the judge should not have instructed jurors they could “assume that the evidence at the trial applies to all class members.”

Judge Anna Joyce said much of the evidence concerned “particular issues concerning particular wildfires,” as well as specific ignitions within the largest fire, Santiam Canyon.

Jurors could not “simply ‘assume’ that that evidence applied ‘to all class members,'” Joyce wrote.

Class actions can allow greater recoveries at lower cost than if plaintiffs were required to sue individually.
